February news

Since it has been a LONG time since I updated my blog (and a friend KINDLY pointed that out to me today), I figured I better try to get back on track.  But...as a mom of three, with a job, and a husband with a crazy schedule, this poor little blog gets stuck on the back burner A LOT!!!!

To update you since January:  In February, Haley has finished cheering.  She is hum-hawing around about track.  David and I are hoping that she decides to go out.  I really wanted her to try everything her 7th grade year, and THEN decide from there if she wants to continue.  Katy's softball team has gotten underway with practice in-doors each Sunday afternoon.  David's football is winding down their practices, their season starts the first of March.

Haley and Katy have been practicing for the first 4-H days competition.  For this, they are going to play their band instruments.  Haley played a solo and received a red.  Katy played a solo and received a blue, and then they played a duet and got a red.  I was just thrilled that we got it pulled off with our busy schedule.  I think they practiced for a total of 4 days before the competition.

Kacey has started her basic sewing instruction with Grandma Sylvia for when she officially gets to join 4-H in April.  She took some photos and put together a book about sewing with Grandma for the Young Author's Conference at the grade school. (Katy made a very cute one about hunting with Grandpa Leon.)  We found out later that they both won their respective grade levels and will represent Haderlein Elementary at the Young Author's Conference at PSU later in April.  Kacey cracks me up.  I don't think that a week goes by that she doesn't get off the bus, with a hat on that they made at school.  One day she was a ground hog for Ground Hog's day and the latest one, was Lincoln, for President's Day.

The big news for the month of February was the new addition we acquired.  Katy's little schnauzer was killed last August and ever since she has wanted a beagle....so....we now have Nellie.  She is a full blooded speckled beagle (I guess some times they are called a blue tic beagle).  I never knew there was such a thing, but we have one now.  And oh, what a personality she has!!!!
